Assassin’s Creed ‘Smart Collectibles’ pairs NFTs with 3D-printed physical objects
Ubisoft has been the most active major game publisher to date in Web3 world, and now the company behind game franchises such as Far Cry and Just Dance is creating a new one NFT game – this time based on the hugely popular open-world action series, Assassin’s Creed.
Integral Reality Labs and Ubisoft have teamed up to create Assassin’s Creed smart collectibleson which NFT access cards are embossed Ethereum scaling network Polygon which is combined with physical collectibles inspired by the popular historical action series.
Each minted “Digital Soul” NFT can be used to customize and redeem a physical collectible – a 3D-printed commemorative piece depicting one of the heroes from the game series suspended in a transparent cube.
Owners can choose from several outfits, weapons and poses before the physical collectible is printed and shipped. The NFTs come in different levels of rarity, and those with a higher level will unlock greater customization items for the associated physical collectibles.
The collectibles have a built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) chip. When tapped with a smartphone, owners can view a digital version of the character in a companion app, as well as access additional features and tools related to the project.
Pricing details have yet to be released, though a representative for Integral Reality Labs said Decrypt that a pre-sale will begin today ahead of the official coin release on May 16. A Ubisoft representative confirmed the licensing agreement with Integral Reality Labs to Decrypt.
Integral Reality Labs has previously partnered with Ubisoft to release customizable, 3D-printed collectibles with no digital binding, based on game franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and For Honor. The Assassin’s Creed game series has sold over 200 million copies since its launch in 2007, according to Ubisoft.

In addition to the “Digital Soul” NFTs that can be redeemed for a physical collectible, Integral Reality Labs will issue 1,500 “Piece of Eden” passes that grant holders certain benefits, such as access to exclusive collectibles and priority access to 3D -printing.
Ubisoft released the first NFT items in the game for an established major video game in 2021, med Tezos-based weapons and asset skins for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint on PC.
The company too created the One Shot Leaguea spinoff of NFT-based fantasy football game Hurtand developed an NFT experiment based on the Rabbids franchise that benefited UNICEF. The Rabbis also recently appeared in Ethereum-based metaverse game, The sandbox.
