ASEAN moves forward as a global powerhouse for innovators

Cooperation across national borders is about extraction, SME growth, government alliances

Manila, Philippines, 6 November 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The week-long First Philippine Fintech Festival (PFF)-World FinTech Festival-(WFF) The Philippines highlighted ASEAN as a global powerhouse for innovators with the participation of 200 international leaders of government and industryis S. PFF kick-started ASEAN FinTech Month, culminating in the recently concluded Singapore FinTech Festival November 4th. It was Digital Pilipinas, the largest private sector-led movement championing the betterment of the country, in partnership with Elevandi, founded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to promote public-private sector dialogue for FinTech development.

The Philippines Department of Information and Communication Technology. David Almirol promised the participants, “Government is your ally for sustainability in digitization.”

For MAS Chief FinTech Officer Sopnendu Mohanty, the focus is on “recovery”, especially for “small businesses that need a lot of technology and digital platforms.”

The cooperation between digitally savvy nations The Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Hungary, Israeland Japan created the following partnerships: Department of Trade and Industry’s Philippine Trade Training Center and MAS’ Proxtera; and Digital Pilipinas individual agreements with Hungary’s Digital Jólét programme; Affinidae; and Indonesia’s The Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority.

Coins.ph CEO Wei Zhou acknowledged, “PFF’s users, capital and projects will help kickstart” ASEAN cooperation.

PFF was attended by more than 5,000 people and discussed challenges and potentials involving digital cooperatives; big data and AI; InsureTech, Green Finance; Open finance; NFTs, e-wallets and digital currencies; EduTech; WealthTech; MarkTech; AgriTech; and PropTech.
