Are you a rich dweeb? Buy this ‘Car Man’ NFT for $8.5 million
Are you in possession of $8,458,650.00 – or, to put it another, more excruciating way, 5,000 Ethereum coins – and desperate to blow it all on a piece of scrap that’s both disturbing and aesthetically cheesy? My rich dweeb, have I got the goods for you: The Car Man Logo Art NFTavailable for you to buy right now on OpenSea.
Despite the fact that we’ve been talking about these things for what feels like forever, I’m still not entirely sure what an NFT is, or why anyone would use the equivalent two Bugatti Chiron Pur Sports to get one. Especially one like this, which seems to depict… a guy suffering from an extreme case of Trumpet Mouth, who is also impressionistically a Volkswagen?
The automotive industry has been trying its hand at NFTs for some time now, with seemingly little success. Chevy offered an NFT that came with a free Corvette Z06 (the very first one built, actually), and no one offers it. Nissan Canada did a similar thing with a GT-R NFT and a real GT-R, and at least someone bought it. Alfa Romeo tried what sounded like a semi-useful application, leveraging NFTs and the blockchain to keep track of the service records of the new Tonale SUV, a complication of something retailers already do a fine job of handling. As we know, NFT transactions require a lot of power (and thus often generate lots of pollution). At least one car NFT involved a Lamborghini…which was summarily blown to pieces and sold as digital tokens.
I came across Car Man Logo Art NFT via this article about the most expensive car-themed NFTs ever sold. And our guy with purple wheels up there is going to pick up a nice crown. He was born into this digital world on February 12th2022, and perhaps unsurprisingly, has not found any bidders so far.

The listing on OpenSea says Car Man Logo Art NFT will be on sale until September 16th. Don’t try to save yourself $8.5 million by taking a screenshot. If you do, you won’t have access to the inexplicable “unlockable content” you get when you purchase Car Man Logo Art NFT!
Or you could just open up an old copy of Microsoft Word and find some vaguely royalty-free clippings. Your ring, my rich dweeb.
