Aptos engineer – first 24 hours blockchain performance indicates chain ‘not even breaking a sweat’
After the recent launch of the Aptos Blockchain, much has been said about the nose dive by the native APTOS token. The token fell to a low of $6.75 from a high of $13.73, according to CoinGecko data. However, Aptos principal engineer Josh Lind also gave his thoughts on the chain’s overall performance in the first 24 hours.
Aptos launch statistics
Lind presented a multithreaded breakdown of statistics related to the first 24 hours of Aptos Blockchain. The data presented indicated that “the blockchain is running smoothly. The system isn’t even breaking a sweat,” according to Lind.
Other key highlights include:
- There were 2.5 million transactions
- Over 570,000 daily active users
- Final transaction was 0.9 seconds
- 102 validators, 140 full validator nodes and 2000+ full public nodes
Lind summarized his analysis by saying he “looks forward to more application and user traffic” as the network’s “components show signs of stress.”
9/ Building fast, scalable, secure and decentralized systems is difficult. Very hard. While @AptosFoundation has a long journey ahead of it (just like Web3), it is amazing to see the blockchain provide low latency and high throughput. We are happy that more users can benefit from Aptos.

PancakeSwap to distribute on Aptos
The performance of the network has not gone unnoticed by other blockchain projects. PancakeSwap, the leading DEX on the Binance BNB chain, has issued a proposal to launch its DEX tools on Aptos. The proposed update would allow CAKE to be distributed natively to the Aptos Blockchain using bridges to enable CAKE holders to “participate in both chains.”
As of October 22, the vote is 97.62% in favor of the proposal with less than 24 hours remaining. The first multi-chain proposal for PancakeSwap is therefore likely to be approved over the weekend. Accepting the bid will allow the PancakeSwap team to begin distribution at Aptos and open swaps at the new chain.
The general reception of the Aptos launch
Additional web3 projects have also shown their support for Aptos Blockchain. Fox wallet announced that they would support Aptos Mainnet while issuing a contest to receive an APT airdrop. Aptos Foundation also announced several other partnerships, including Momentum Safe, Souffle3, Pyth, Hippo and others.
Along with support from DEXs and wallets, Aptos has set an influx of NFT creators launching projects on the chain within the first day. Furthermore, countless projects also appeared to take advantage of APT airdrops by offering various contests with prizes issued in APT tokens.
TokenPocket published an overview of the Aptos ecosystem in its current state to show the scale of development in the early days of the blockchain.
