Makerplace AI Art Hackathon: Revolutionizing the AI Art Race
Building on the recent introduction of MakersPlace’s AI Generative Art category, the platform continues to champion creators in the AI art space. The hackathon is in many ways a collaboration between humans and machines. MakersPlace encourages the use of AI technology as a creative tool and partner in the artistic process.
During the AI Art Hackathon, BLΛC, Illustrata, artist DVK and DigitalCoy will draw inspiration from a poem by Sasha Stiles. This poem is available for purchase at MakersPlace and licensed under CC0. The participants then witness the real-time creation of art, immersing themselves in the artistic process. The finished artworks will then be auctioned off as unique pieces on MakersPlace starting June 15, 2023!
Trevor Jones and Hackatao will introduce mysterious artifacts into the art-making process, surprising the participating artists and challenging them to think on their feet. These sketches are then sold as limited editions during NFC Lisbon, with Trevor Jones and Hackatao credited as collaborators, giving collectors a tangible part of the creative process.
A key figure in the AI Art Hackathon is Coldie. Coldie is an award-winning digital artist known for his expertise in stereoscopic 3D art. Coldie curates the participating artists’ artwork into a coherent collage. He then uses Artmatr’s proprietary MATR robot to transform their sketches into robot-painted physical works. Coldie then merges these paintings into a unique piece of physical art. This art features the signatures of Coldie, Trevor Jones and the participating artists. Also, Coldie will remix the physical versions of the artists’ 1/1s to create digital stereoscopic “phygital” artwork. These will then be available for sale at the end of July or August 2023.
What does it contain for collectors?
Purchasers of open and limited editions of Sasha Stiles or limited editions of the four collaborative artists with Trevor Jones and Hackatao will also receive exclusive benefits.
These benefits include:
- The opportunity to enter a raffle to win Artmatr robot-painted physical works signed by Trevor Jones and/or Hackatao.
