AI and digital art: the news of the NFT world
Yesterday, a consortium of Web3 companies officially announced September 20 for NFT day. From now on, this is going to be an annual moment for the Web3 community to collectively educate people about the value of blockchain-based experiences.
On this date in 2017, the primary protocol behind NFTs – ERC-721 – was originally released by Dapper Labs CTO Dieter Shirley next to the first use of the term “Non-fungible token.” Since then, technology has grown into a 11.3 billion dollar industry.
As we always keep our readers updated with the latest trends, we don’t want to miss one of the recent creations of the art-addicted crypto community.
NFT news in the digital art world
This month, the 2022 edition of New York Fashion Week officially closed. Throughout the five-day event, we have managed to see some of the biggest names in fashion such as Tom Ford, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors debuts its latest outlook and vision for 2023 and beyond. What connected the fashion industry as an underlying trend was Web3 and more specifically NFTs.
Electric Feel lit up New York City during New York Fashion Week with 400+ participants who enjoyed the chandelier-lit rooftop lounge designed to showcase fashion trends and Spring 2023 collections with a live model presentation combined with digital twins available for immediate purchase and virtual try-on using the latest augmented virtual reality experiences.
Kelly Maxmodernist co-founder, said:
“Throughout history, art movements have influenced fashion and today technology is the leading influence of the future of commerce. Artists, designers and technologists alike are embracing non-fungible tokens as a modern medium for future-proof fashion,” said Casey Golden, founder of Luxlock. “NFTs that solve real-world problems will shape the future of culture and commerce.”
Over the past five days, some of the biggest brands and designers in the world have launched a number of Web3-focused projects and initiatives. Brands are moving towards “phygital” offerings that bridge the physical and digital worlds, and the fashion industry is uniquely positioned to take full advantage of this technological fashion trend.
The fashion industry has started to work intensively with Web3 and NFT in recent months. For example, Gucci branches already started accepting crypto payments back in August. At this year’s New York Fashion Week, participants were presented with news and visions around the Web3-focused future.
While it’s great that the fashion industry is embracing technology, we’re also seeing new trends in the way art is created by local communities.
Recently we have started to see more and more platforms being created on the – text to art model, which simply describes art e-facts that you want to see or better said – the art you imagine.
Of course, to create something unique, you are going to open your mind and start being descriptive and creative by arranging words that can eventually make up a unique art-e-fact.
The innovation brought by the Midjourney platform
A good example of such a platform is Midjourney, which can be tested as a free trial of several arts. Midjourney is an independent research laboratory exploring new media of thought and expanding the imaginative powers of the human species.
There are two ways to experience the tools: Midjourney Bot, which you can use to generate images, and the web appwhere you can find a gallery of your own work and other users’ creations.
Once you start using our tool, you’ll be able to create one limited number of images before you have to subscribe. You want around 25 free use of the /imagine command or other queries (variations, scale-ups). These usages are also known as “jobs” or “GPU minutes”.
However, there are still artists who prefer to use more software that enables them to create handmade and unique digital art e-facts.
It seems that the creative minds are unstoppable and are constantly coming up with new and innovative ideas and exploring new areas where this revolutionary technology can be applied.
