Into the ether

What: Auctions and editions
When: 13 February at 6:30 p.m. ET

Why: Ralph Steadman, the British illustrator best known for his “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” collaboration with American author Hunter S. Thompson makes his grand entrance to the Ethereum blockchain with a multi-part NFT drop titled “Into the Ether ». After throwing his hat into the NFT ring by minting a few bites on Tezos, this upcoming Nifty Gateway drop from Steadman will be his biggest and most ambitious to date.

Why: From prominent artist/digital sculptor John Orion Young (JOY) comes a new, large-scale, generative art expansion to the beloved Joyworld ecosystem. Aptly named Joysmiles, this upcoming collection of 10,000 PFP NFTs features over 200 hand-sculpted features and is billed as a “celebration of creativity, whimsy, and playfulness.”

Why: Beloved Mexican soft drink company Jarritos has teamed up with Web3 culture studio and fashion label Probably Nothing for a unique NFT collection celebrating Valentine’s Day. Set to last for 48 hours, the drop will feature a number of digital collectibles that can be burned to redeem physical products.

What: 9,669 interactive NFTs

Why: Created by the community and for the community, the NFT Yearbook is a first-of-its-kind NFT project that combines 3D art and digital literature into an interactive readable NFT. With 420 pages and content contributed by over 550 Web3 creators, each digital NFT book comes with a real counterpart that can be redeemed by collectors.

What: 100 minigame NFTs

Why: A new effort from innovation studio Venture Punk and Animeta’s founder cyberh49, Levels.art is an on-chain interactive art platform where top artists release exclusive collections of playable NFTs. For the platform’s first release, Levels.art has collaborated with prominent Web3 creator Bryan Brinkman on a minigame created in his unique, colorful, sky-themed style.

Why: From renowned multi-faceted artist Jen Stark comes a first-of-its-kind blockchain art project featuring dynamic, evolving and interactive NFTs. A collaboration with Chainsaw and CutModDigital Paint centers around interaction, allowing collectors to expand their NFTs and experience sound-activated brushstrokes, unique brush shapes, psychedelic palettes and undulating patterns.

Why: Violetta Zironi has scaled up her Web3 music endeavors in a big way via a generative avatar collection titled “Another Life.” Consisting of five original songs recorded live with tape machines from the 1950s, each track on her second NFT album is paired with one of 5,200 possible PFPs inspired by Zironi and illustrated by Italian artist Arianna Rea.
