Tezos Digital Wallet Altme is now compliant with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI)

AltMe announces its compliance with EBSI

Altme, a leading provider of Self-Sovereign Identity solutions (also known as decentralized identity), announces its compliance with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), supported by the European Commission and 29 European countries.

Compliance in line with the development of European regulation regarding crypto-assets

As the growth of decentralized finance (DeFi) and cryptoassets continues to attract government attention, Altme is poised to play a critical role by providing a regulatory compliant wallet that supports official documents for authentication and ID verification checks in the Web 3 ecosystem.

The Altme wallet, officially available on the iOS and Google Play stores since 2022, is one of the first crypto wallets to fully support digital assets and digital identity.

By becoming EBSI compliant, Altme gives its users the ability to store, manage and share official digital ID documents, such as diplomas and ID cards.

The EU’s crypto regulatory landscape is rapidly evolving, and Altme is at the forefront, already complying with regulations such as the Travel Rule (TFR) and MiCA, which will affect all crypto transactions in the EU from 2024.

This announcement opens the door for millions of European users to leverage their data for secure authentication and verification controls, in the blockchain ecosystem while protecting their privacy and personal data.

Rethinking digital identity in the Web 3 age

With its user-friendly interface and privacy-preserving features, the Altme wallet offers a game-changing solution for secure, regulatory-compliant and trusted transactions.

Altme already supports Tezo’s cryptoassets, making Tezos one of the first Web 3 ecosystems to offer a fully decentralized identity solution to its users.

This new generation of crypto-identity wallets will enable a new online experience based on trust, ownership and privacy by giving people and organizations direct control over how, when and where their personal information is shared.

Hugo MIR, marketing manager at Altme stated:

“Altme is delighted to be part of the European Commission’s vision to build a trusted digital environment.

Web 3 needs compliance, and decentralized identity solutions like Altme will play a key role in improving trust and ensuring that bad actors are kept out.”
