CPost to launch NFT stamps

Cpost International chooses Stampsdaq Estonia as an exclusive partner for its NFT business

WILLEMSTAD, TALLINN, 20 Decemberth 2022. Cpost Internationalthe official designated postal operator of the country of Curacao (part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands), decided to enter the NFT stamp business by signing an exclusive agreement with an EU-based NFT company Stampsdaq Estonia. The decision to choose stampsdaq.com when the platform for the country’s first NFT stamps came as a result of the strategic vision of Cpost International to create a more entertaining, engaging and rewarding environment with exclusive real-life benefits for both the country’s existing and new stamp collectors. Cpost joins three other postal operators who are already on Stampsdaq in the effort to develop a joint, philately-dedicated digital stamp ecosystem.

“Curacao’s philatelic history is quite old. The first stamps were issued in 1873, and since then our stamp releases have always been welcomed by philatelists worldwide, said Thomas Roggendorf, CEO of Cpost International. “However, as is widely known, traditional philately is aging rapidly. With digital NFT stamps, we see an opportunity to rejuvenate interest especially from a younger generation. The business model offered by Stampsdaq certainly coincides with our vision of truly value-added stamp collecting experience that can be realized using blockchain and NFT technology.”

Stampsdaq is a dedicated NFT stamp platform that implements the model of One-Stop-Shop solution to start and develop NFT business for a postal operator and the “Collect with Benefits” model for the global collecting community. Cpost International is the fourth postal operator on the platform to join La Poste de Côte d’Ivoire, Bhutan Post and Botswana Post.

“We are really happy to have it Cpost International join stampsdaq.com! This partnership brings a jewel to our program,” said Andrii Shapovalov, CEO of the Stampsdaq Estonia. “Stamp collecting is one of the oldest collecting hobbies in the world, with close to 1000000 unique stamp motifs issued by postal operators since 1840. With NFT technology enabling true digital ownership, this vast philatelic heritage will be transformed into a digital form allowing unique collecting experiences. What we are offering today for NFT stamp owners is just the beginning of the journey to create the most entertaining and rewarding NFT philatelic ecosystem.”

The first Curacao NFT stamps are scheduled to be released on stampsdaq.com in January 2023. More details about this will come in January next year.
