OneOf, eBay and Globe Entertainment team up to launch the Led Zeppelin NFT Collection
One ofWeb3, the mass consumer company that powers iconic brands, artists and athletes, today announces their Legends of Rock: Led Zeppelin digital collectibles in collaboration with eBay and Globe Entertainment and Media (Globe), caretaker of the world’s most famous archives.
Honoring one of the greatest bands in the world, the collection combines rare real-world physical memorabilia with a digital certificate of authenticity to give fans a chance to own a moment in rock history.
The Legends of Rock: Led Zeppelin Collection features a unique collection of three images taken by photographer Jay Thompson, capturing Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones during the famous 1969 photo shoot at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.
Included with each purchase is a pair of original vintage tickets from Led Zeppelin’s 1980 Chicago Stadium concert, which was abruptly canceled due to the unexpected death of the band’s drummer, John Bonham.
The tickets, which were printed exclusively for the special concert series and were sure to become an important part of Led Zeppelin memorabilia, were never sold and the Led Zeppelin era came to an all-too-early end.
“Led Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time, and I couldn’t be more excited about this collection,” said Joshua James, co-founder and COO, OneOf. “These original tickets and photographs are truly a piece of history. We are proud to partner with eBay and Globe Entertainment on this project, while honoring Led Zeppelin and their fans by carrying their legacy into the future.”
“With this drop, eBay is connecting Led Zeppelin fans with stories about the band’s history — and verifying the authenticity of these legendary memorabilia with blockchain technology,” said Brita Turner, General Manager, Collectibles, at eBay. “Collectors and enthusiasts turn to eBay for the rare, exclusive and iconic, and these original Led Zeppelin tickets and photographs highlight the unique items eBay brings to music fans and to all collecting communities.”
“We are thrilled to offer collectors the opportunity to own this incredible Led Zeppelin memorabilia,” said Klaus Moeller, CEO of Globe Entertainment and Media. “Thanks to OneOf, Globe is able to leverage the latest Web3 commerce technology and bring this unique collection to life to give fans another chance to connect with such an iconic and well-loved band.”
The limited edition collection offers two levels for collectors.
The Platinum level ($199) includes 99 issues for each of the three photographs. Collectors will receive a physical 16 x 16 photograph printed on archival paper as well as two original tickets from Led Zeppelin’s canceled 1980 tour.
The Diamond team ($399) will offer 5 fans a 30 x 24 professionally framed and engraved photograph of Led Zeppelin as well as four tickets to the Chicago Stadium Led Zeppelin concert.
Each purchase of a physical print will include a digital certificate of authenticity, minted on the Tezos blockchain, to confirm the buyer’s ownership of the physical print.
The memorabilia will be shipped to the mailing address provided by the buyers within 5 business days, ready to arrive just in time for the holidays.
