LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lil’ Villains, the next chapter in the celebrated Lil’ Heroes NFT collection from Spanish contemporary artist Edgar Plans and Candle Media’s Exile Content Studio, will hit December 12, 2022. This second collection, centered on the concept that every story needs both a hero and a villain, pairs heroes and villains together to unlock tools that give collectors access to a training camp that offers the opportunity to receive exclusive limited editions, merchandise and event tickets.
Launching in January 2022, the first Lil’ Heroes collection sold out in 45 minutes. Lil’ Heroes community members will have exclusive early access to the Lil’ Villains collection, which is also expected to sell out quickly. The collection is then opened to a preferred list before opening to the public, while stocks last.
Beyond the NFT collection, Lil’ Heroes is an entertainment franchise set to include an animated television series, consumer products, licensing, publishing, events, games and more. The franchise aims to grow with the community of collectors and fans, starting with the NFT collection and bringing together the traditional worlds of art, entertainment and technology. Exile Content Studio recently acquired a majority stake in the Lil’ Heroes NFT series.
“From the start, Lil’ Heroes was built with the goal of creating an entertainment series around Edgar Plans’ mischievous characters,” said Daniel Eilemberg, co-founder and CEO of the Lil’ Heroes NFT franchise. “When we started crafting our TV series with our Showrunner Kevin Shinick and Executive Producers, Carmelo Anthony and Asani Swann, we realized we were missing something every good story needs: A villain.”
Eilemberg continued, “As we continue to build Lil’ Heroes into a media brand, we also want to provide more benefits and benefit to our community for their commitment to the Lil’ Heroes project and universe, so we created Training Camp. Lil’ Villains is the ticket to training camp , along with their Lil’ Heroes counterparts, and key to the exclusive Lil’ Heroes digital community and its innovations in the NFT space.”
“With the launch of Lil’ Villains, the sequel to the NFT collection of Lil’ Heroes, I continue what I see as the biography of my childhood, and indeed the biography of our collective childhood years,” said artist Edgar Plans. “These characters are playful and nostalgic, reminding us of the good in this world and how we must fight for what is right. These NFTs are a gateway to the Lil’ Heroes and Lil’ Villains universe that we are building, and spanning art, entertainment and even our identities in the future.”
The Lil’ Villains Collection will hit December 12, 2022 on LilVillains.io in three phases. During Phase One, Lil’ Heroes collectors will be able to mint a Lil’ Villain for every Lil’ Heroes NFT they have (gas fees apply). In phase two, Lil’ Villains will be available for purchase by those on the preferred list, including anyone on the Lil’ Heroes whitelist who was unable to impress in January, and current Lil’ Heroes holders. Phase three will open to the public for general sale.
The Lil’ Villains mint comes on the heels of the entertainment franchise’s announcement of Kevin Shnick as showrunner for Exile Content Studio’s Lil’ Heroes animated series. Shinick joins NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, who along with his producing partner and Creative 7 co-founder, Asani Swann, serve as executive producers for the series.
