Leaked Twitter code reveals secret crypto bomb that raises serious questions about Bitcoin and Dogecoin
Technologists claim to have uncovered a secret new Twitter feature that could be about to destroy the world of bitcoin and crypto (including Elon Musk’s favorite, dogecoin, amid wild upgrade speculation).

Twitter code shows the development of a potential “Twitter coin” cryptocurrency to rival bitcoin and dogecoin, according to researchers – just days after new Twitter owner Elon Musk sent another cryptocurrency surging 300%.

“Twitter is working on coins,” posted Nima Owji, who runs a Twitter leak account on the platform, along with screenshots of a Twitter interface showing a “coin” option for betting.
“It’s not rolled out yet; there’s little information out there about what exactly this is,” tech leaker Jane Manchun Wong told The block after posting similar screenshots. Wong subsequently deleted her Twitter posts and accounting.
Since being taken over by Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, speculation and rumors have abounded that Twitter might roll out bitcoin, dogecoin or crypto features – something that has been encouraged by Musk through his promises to turn Twitter into a WeChat-like super app .
“WeChat has a lot of functionality that Twitter should have,” Musk continued a Twitter Spaces the broadcast was listened to by just over 2 million people over the weekend. “It’s kind of easy for Twitter to have payments, both fiat currency and crypto, and to make it simple and easy for people to use.”
Musk predicted that “people will use the cryptocurrencies that they think will accumulate value over time and not use the ones that won’t.”

The price of the meme-based dogecoin, repeatedly touted by Musk as his cryptocurrency of choice in recent years, has soared following his Twitter takeover. Dogecoin price has fallen this week as rumors swirl around a potential Twitter coin.
“I think there is a role for crypto in the future, without talking to any particular cryptocurrency, as a means to ensure that the monetary system is not completely destroyed,” Musk said. “It essentially gives competition to the fiat system. So if the fiat system becomes too restrictive, crypto will grow.”
However, some dogecoin supporters have speculated that Twitter coin is a code name for dogecoin development. “Twitter coin is code for not saying dogecoin,” a dogecoin supporter posted.
Last month, Twitter iPhone code revealed references to the Signal message app protocol for encrypted private messages, suddenly sending the price of the Signal-linked mobilecoin cryptocurrency up by around 300%.
