An exhibit titled “Performance in Code, Deciphering Value in Generative Art, Powered by Tezos” will be on display at this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach from December 1st to December 3rd. In collaboration with the generative art platform fxhash and in partnership with Serpentine Arts Technologies, Tezo’s blockchain would explore the mathematical probability as well as “its effect on rarity and perceived value in generative art.”

In this year’s event, participants will have the chance to claim NFTs instantly by being drawn to scan a QR code. In addition, they can observe the gallery space in development. Visitors will be in a collaborative art experience after being shown how the generative art is created, as well as the rarity value associated with each NFT.

The interactive gallery will feature work by pioneering generative artists: Tyler Boswell, DistCollective and Ivona Tau. In addition to the live gallery experience, the exhibition will feature 13 other artists: Lars Wander, Studio Yorktown, Yazid, Volatile Moods, jeres, ykxotkx, Jinyao Lin, Aluan Wang, Ella, Toxi, Amy Goodchild, IskraVelitchkova and Zach Lieberman.

In addition to the exhibition, a series of talks exploring the merging of generative art algorithms and blockchain technology will be held on December 2nd and December 3rd. This will feature famous artists in the Tezos ecosystem. Serpentine Arts Technologies would host two panel discussions called “Hybrid Worlds: Breaking Creative Boundaries” and “NFTs: Worlding Differently.”

Another discussion called “Value – In the Eye of the Creator” would be held on December 3. The panels would rethink how to determine the value of art with the rise of new art media.

The third discussion called “NFTs, DAOs, IP: Redefining Art Law” will also be held on December 3. It will look at “how copyright laws will apply to NFT art, how smart contracts will affect how art is bought and sold, how much power DAOs will have in driving collective action among art communities, and what intellectual property looks like in a decentralized world .”

Tezos has attracted more artists, collectors and builders due to its energy-efficient design and affordable minting and transactions of NFTs. Tezo’s blockchain has become a home for many NFT platforms, including fxhash, objkt.com and Teia.art. According to a report, fxhash alone has seen more than 1.2 million unique generative artworks collected in less than a year.
