Israeli delegation looks at “Future of Fintech” in Atlanta
A delegation of Israeli companies focusing on the “future of fintech” could easily have returned after visiting New York earlier this month.
The fact that seven of them went on to Atlanta is a sign that the city’s reputation as a hub in the fast-growing field of fintech continues to grow globally.
The Israeli innovators were just one of the recent incoming fintech groups that have latched onto Atlanta, whose vibrant ecosystem is becoming one of the most important international calling cards.
In late Octoberit Berlin Finance Initiative brought a group of fintech leaders to Atlanta for a lunch that included a pitch session. The month before, 10 British companies visited Miami and Atlanta on a mission that included a stop at Deluxea payments company with an Atlanta-based innovation and technology center.
Deluxe, not coincidentally, was also among the Atlanta-based fintech “buyers” and investors who heard from and shared insights with the Israeli firms during an afternoon session at the law offices of Alston & Bird on November 9, which followed an earlier forum on Metro Atlanta Chamber.
The capstone event was a reception organized by Consulate General of Israel in Atlanta and Conexx: America-Israel Commercial Alliancealso at Alston & Bird.
“I was very happy to see Atlanta get a first crack at these Israeli tech innovations, they were all very interesting and ranged from decentralizing data storage for security and privacy, to enabling smart subscription services,” said Randall Fosterchairman of the board of Conexx.
Discussions focused on such wide-ranging opportunities as joint ventures, partnerships, business development, supply chain restructuring and the introduction of innovative technologies, said Richard Brooks with Conexx, whose Fintech Council (one of many industry-focused groups in the alliance) is considering leading a delegation to Fintech Week Tel Aviv in March 2023.
