Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Announces Soon To Be Released Documentary About Crypto Exchange Giant
A new documentary about crypto exchange Coinbase and the digital asset industry will be released on popular video streaming platforms on Friday.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says that over the past three years the company has been working with 10-time Emmy Award-winning director Greg Kohs for the new film titled COIN.
“We gave Greg and his team unprecedented access to the company, showing the crazy ups and downs of building a tech startup all the way to going public. He shows it all—the good, the bad, and the ugly.”
Armstrong says he green-lighted the production of the documentary in hopes that it could help demystify crypto and tech startups.
“The world tends to either vilify founders or put them on a pedestal. Neither is true – they’re just regular people trying to make something that people want. And everyone who works with crypto believes it can create a more fair, free and global financial system.
I believe that technology is the best lever we have to solve the world’s problems and improve the human condition, and I want to encourage more people to start technology companies. So I decided to pull back the curtain and show people how it really is.”
The leader, who has previously called for the US to pass crypto regulations which can encourage domestic innovation, urges decision-makers to watch the film.
“I hope you all go and see the film – and that policy makers see it too. I think it will help advance the cause of cryptocurrency, and show the motivation of the many hard-working people driving this industry forward.”
The documentary will be available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Vimeo.
