International Rescue Club NFTs is a trip
The Gen Art drop goes live on September 30th.
A landmark partnership between ITV Studios and Reality+ means fans will soon be able to buy and trade officially licensed nonfungible token (NFT) artwork based on the classic TV show Thunderbirds.
ITV Studios has partnered with Reality+ to create “Thunderbirds: International Rescue Club”, a premium, utility-focused NFT community experience that represents an exciting reimagining of the classic property’s unique style and vision for the 21st century.
Owners of Thunderbirds: International Rescue Club artwork will gain access to their own unique avatar for use in The Sandbox metaverse along with unique contests, giveaways, free drops and official merchandise, and a generative art drop on September 30.
Sebastien Borget, co-founder and CEO of The Sandbox, said: “We are delighted to partner with ITV Studios and Reality+ to launch the legendary Thunderbirds series into the metaverse. The Sandbox continues to bring culture and entertainment with Thunderbirds, so that fans can own, play and get creative as they imagine and bring to life new adventures and stories with their characters from the original series.”
The project will also give holders the opportunity to take part in real-life “Rescue Missions”, where funds generated via Thunderbirds: International Rescue Club’s NFT sales will be used to help charities and good causes around the world.
The rescue missions
Thunderbirds: International Rescue Club is an international organization set up to change the world, one rescue mission at a time. A global community of Thunderbirds fans around the world come together to support our missions. The project has raised £7,500 of its fundraising target and as part of its launch this week, 20% of all future sales will go directly to help charities such as Dobrich Dog Rescue. The community will help decide which future missions Thunderbirds: International Rescue Club will undertake.
Mission 1 took place at Dobrich Dog Rescue in Bulgaria, a charity that rescues and rehomes stray dogs.

Fans will be able to collect NFT artwork of vehicles, locations and character art based on the original and much-loved TV show, which first aired in 1965 and followed the Tracy family’s enterprises and their international rescue service. The show was created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and is known for its innovative use of marionette puppetry, or “super-marioning”.
All Thunderbirds NFTs are focused on future utility, with the upcoming generative artwork giving users access to the “International Rescue Club” and the ability to create a 3D Thunderbirds avatar based on their NFT attributes, which they can then use to explore The Sandbox metaverse, a vast virtual world accessible via PC and mobile.
