Huobi, AstroPay Team at LatAm Crypto Payments
Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Global partners with online payment solution AstroPay to bring fiat-to-crypto payment services to Latin America.
Under the agreement, Huobi Global users can use AstroPay’s payment platform to seamlessly purchase crypto assets using fiat currency, according to a press release on Tuesday (September 20).
“Latin America claims a young and vibrant population full of enthusiasm for the crypto industry, and we have observed a significant increase in the number of new Huobi Global users from this region,” Huobi Global CFO Lily Zhang said in the release.

“Our partnership with AstroPay underscores our goal to make buying and trading digital assets a safe, convenient and enjoyable experience for everyone,” Zhang added.
Founded in 2013 in Beijing, Huobi Global has users across five continents in 160 different countries and regions. The collaboration with AstroPay will enable the exchange’s users in Latin American countries to use fiat-to-crypto payment options through the AstroPay digital wallet.
Huobi Global’s users in the region can buy and shop using multiple payment methods, including credit and debit cards, bank transfers and local alternative options, such as Pix in Brazil and SPEI in Mexico, according to the press release.

“AstroPay is known for its expertise in providing payment services for companies looking to target the diverse Latin American market. Huobi Global users will be able to buy and sell their crypto assets in local currency, which will ultimately lead to higher trading volume and greater engagement within the cryptocurrency sector, AstroPay Chief Commercial Officer Sara Rita said in the press release.
Headquartered in Brazil and founded in 2009, AstroPay is rapidly expanding its footprint in Asia, Africa and Europe. AstroPay offers more than 200 different payment methods in users’ local currencies for use in international e-commerce markets.
