Inside this year’s $70K Emmys swag bag: African safaris, NFts, more
It’s good to be an Emmy nominee!
TV stars honored at this year’s awards show will take home an epic swag bag — worth a whopping $70,000 — that includes an African safari, an NFT piece of art, a grill and more luxury items, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
Everyone from Zendaya, nominated for lead actress in a drama series for “Euphoria,” to Jason Sudeikis, nominated for lead actor in a comedy series for “Ted Lasso,” can stop by eBay and the GBK Brand Bar Luxury Lounge this weekend in Los Angeles to collect the gifts theirs.
“We couldn’t be happier to partner with eBay and Lush Africa Safaris to create the most luxurious lounge of the year, curated with the best gifts of the year,” Gavin Keilly, CEO of GBK Brand Bar, said in a statement.
The pièce de résistance of GBK’s 2022 bag is certainly the contribution from Lush Africa Safaris. The company offers nominees a choice of three- to five-day East African safari packages costing an estimated $50,000.
After Africa, Emmy nominees can fly to the Caribbean. Casa de Campo Resort and Villas — a favorite destination of Beyoncé and Jay-Z — is offering a three-night stay at their establishment in La Romana, Dominican Republic (oceanfront villas start at $1,199 per night).
Meanwhile, Turks and Caicos’ Sailrock Resort is offering a three-night stay in one of their private villas, worth $10,000.
However, it is not just travel accommodation that eBay and GBK take care of. They’re giving away $500 gift cards to eBay — so the nominees can buy whatever they want from the website — while making sure they’re well fed.
CORE Foods provides a year’s supply of snacks; Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is giving away $1,000 in grub; Habiza Hummus offers six months of free dip; and Oreo treats attendees to customized cookies made with the company’s OREOiD platform to satisfy any sweet tooth.
When stars want to cook for themselves, they can do so with the $1,500 portable infrared gas grill they get from Schwank Grills.
There is also a lot of premium alcohol to be had. Hollywood’s elite can let loose with El Cristiano Tequila — bottles costing up to $125 — a $165 bottle of Hertelendy Vineyards and a $500 bottle of Cardinal du Four Armagnac, 21 Rébellion, all included in the bag.
Furthermore, guests will walk away with a NFT: Hobo Queen Art by River Kinney, described as “a nod to psychedelic art with a modern, surreal pop culture twist to bring a metaphorical and overarching ethereal experience to the human eye and mind. ”
To come down from the high of art, Emmy nominees — along with presenters and more A-list talent, who are welcome for all gifts except the pricey African safari — can get away with a collection of health and wellness treats.
They grab Calexo’s cannabis-infused watercolor sparkling water, a one-year subscription to Thin Energy Hydration and The Rasha, a Base-12 infrasound, scalar morphogenetic meditation machine that promotes the ever-elusive state of “Consciousness-Coherence.”
Plus, stars can look and feel their best thanks to SalaHime skin care, which offers Essence All-In-One Facial Gel made with human stem cells ($150), SuperHigh hair care and Rear Ended casual wear, designed to accentuate women’s curves.
Several fashion and accessories brands that offer swag include Bati Goods, Mander by Karn and Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry.
Keilly tells Page Six that several charities close to his heart — including Covenant House California, Creative Coalition and Worthy of Love — will also be on site at the event “to help educate and bring awareness to these incredibly important organizations .”
The LA businessman – whose GBK Productions throws similar pre-parties for several marquee events such as the Oscars, Golden Globes and the Cannes Film Festival – has hosted a number of high-profile names over the years.
Anthony Anderson, Whoopi Goldberg, Viola Davis, Usher, Serena Williams, Martha Stewart, Miles Teller, Spike Lee, Jamie Foxx and Susan Sarandon, among others, are considered “friends” of the company.
Before Keilly’s 2022 Emmys party kicks off, he’s set to receive the Be Great! Humanitarian Award on Friday at the Marriott Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
The second annual Be Great! Awards honor 20 philanthropists, chosen from over 100 nominations, for their passion, innovation and generous giving. Keilly—which includes nonprofits at all of its events to educate and align participating celebrities with each cause—is proud to have raised over $10 million for more than 50 organizations.
The 74th Emmy Awards will take place on September 12 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Viewers can watch on NBC or Peacock, as well as other live streaming services Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV and Fubo TV, at 8 p.m.
