New Polium One NFT console swears they did not take a screenshot of the GameCube logo

Despite claiming that it did not copy the GameCube logo, Polium scraps it and creates a new logo because of course they are.

A company called Polium has launched a number of conversations among gamers recently, not only because of its efforts to create a “multi-chain console for Web 3 Gaming” via its Polium One, but also because the logo of Polium One bears a striking resemblance to a logo previously used on another game console.

More specifically, when you look at the Polium One logo, it is almost exactly matched with Nintendo’s GameCube. Although you do not have to put the two side by side to see this, it’s a great way to show how similar they are, with the Polium One logo being essentially the same as the one used by the Nintendo GameCube, just flipped round.

After following people who pointed this out and drew Polium for the noticeable similarities between the two logos, the company took to Twitter to share some statements both about the logo topic and in general about Polium One. Among these, Polium claims that it did not copy the GameCube logo. Despite this claim that the logo was not copied, the company has nevertheless promised to create a new, more original logo to be used instead.

By reviewing the rest of the information for Polium One on the FAQ page, it is noted that Polium One will be compatible with networks such as Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, BNB, ImmutableX, Harmony, EOS and WAX. It will also have a fingerprint scanner that users must use to perform transactions. Polium claims to be working with a number of game developers, and that it will have a “functional prototype” of Polium One to show in a few months. Hopefully with a new logo by then as well.

What are your thoughts on the situation? Do you think Polium deliberately copied the GameCube logo, perhaps to arouse controversy and draw more attention to Polium One? Do you think the Polium One console will be successful? Let us know in Chatty!
