Innovative Ibiza-based music and art platform OpenLab is set to launch a very special set of art x music collaboration NFTs. This announcement follows news of their Early Access Future Pass arriving on August 3rd.
The project is the first initiative with TokenTraxx. Together, they unite ground-breaking musical talents with some of the most exciting names in the visual arts to create new and highly collectible audiovisual works.
The project, called ‘New Mycelium Network’, is inspired by the mushroom’s network roots. Moreover, it takes cooperation as a starting point for imaginative and creative departures in difficult times. At 18:00 BST on 3 August, a very limited number of OpenLab Future Passes will be available through TokenTraxx. In short, these passes provide early access to this exclusive NFT release.
This is the first of many ambitious cross-platform creative collaborations between OpenLab and TokenTraxx. But why? Well, TokenTraxx is on a mission to be at the center of a new independent music and art creation economy. They aim to achieve this by providing a platform powered by NFTs that supports and financially benefits the entire art community.
Ellie Pritts, a classically trained cellist, creates richly saturated and psychedelic works of art that captivate her viewers. To explain, her digital practice is a tangled collaboration with AI, old-fashioned analog technology and the latest in coding techniques.
She then collaborates with Kate Simko, a classical pianist and composer as well as a DJ and producer of electronic music. Originally from Chicago, but now based in London, Kate founded LEO – London Electronic Orchestra. LEO is a female fusion of classical and electronic music. Meanwhile, Kate also teaches electronic music at The Royal College of Music. Despite that, she still found time to collaborate on electronic music productions with top industry producers Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones.
Japanese digital artist Saeko Ehara is the queen of all things glittery. She brings her fascination with glitter to digital art, and her practice spans NFTs and generative video. Like a VJ, her incredible immersive installations react in real time to the music playing alongside them. In harmony with the sound, Saeko generates enchanting organic patterns that create a euphoric experience. Consequently, her NFTs are notorious for their intense detail and fantasy feel.
Saeko will work with Xiaolin (Olivia Xiaolin) – a producer, sound explorer, DJ and instrumentalist from Hong Kong. Xiaolin has an impressively wide range of sounds that includes jazz fusion, acid house, dreamy synths and organic breaks. In addition, she earned a dual master’s degree in jazz and music technology at Berklee College of Music.
