The Oath Goes Digital: Trevor Jones Creates Unique Coronation NFT | NFT CULTURE | NFT News | Web3 culture

The Evening Standard in partnership with Nifty Gateway is offering readers the opportunity to own a unique piece of Coronation history with a free, one-of-a-kind piece of digital art NFT. Titled ‘The Oath’, the NFT was created by acclaimed artist Trevor Jones and depicts the St Edward’s Crown, which has been used to crown British monarchs since 1661. The artwork features an animation of the painting turning into a rotating crown, complete with sound.

Jones, a leading figure in the NFT world, created this piece to own for free, and readers can claim it with just an email address. The NFT will be available as an open edition from Thursday to midnight on Sunday on the Nifty Gateway website. Each NFT will be stored on the Ethereum blockchain.

“It’s a very unique thing for me to do. I’ve done really well in the room, and to create a piece of art for such a historic event, to work with the Evening Standard, to then be able to give this piece of art to anyone in the world who wants it, and they can keep it, they can sell it, they can give it to a friend, they can do whatever they want with it.” Trevor Jones in an interview with the Standard’s “How to be a CEO” podcast.

NFTs are a unique digital means of commerce that represent real-world objects, such as works of art, that are bought and sold online. The Oath will be available in an open edition for a limited time, and one week after the coronation, everyone who has their open edition of The Oath will have the chance to receive a limited animated version of the work, which will be given to 444 people at random. There is also a chance to win one of 10 signed physical prints of the original work.

Created in partnership with Apollo Entertainment, The Oath reflects King Charles’ long-standing passion for the environment, with the crown set against a backdrop that reflects the natural world. The title refers to the coronation oath, in which the monarch solemnly swears to rule the peoples of Great Britain and the other Commonwealth realms according to their laws and customs.

This unique opportunity to claim a piece of coronation history is not to be missed. For more information, visit the Trevor Jones Art website at trevorjonesart.com.
