Team VESA attended the annual world-leading AI and Blockchain AIBC conference this past week, and the collaboration originally started in 2018 saw its π
It was such a great moment to be awarded the NFT Artist of the Year award in front of so many dear friends and colleagues. I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who voted for me and came to speak after receiving it in various ways ππΌ
I’ve been privileged, even though I’ve backed up 15 years of building digital art, to be awarded many awards β but this one felt very special because so many famous faces were also doing huge things in this room that are present βοΈ

Winning such a prestigious award is a testament to the hard work and dedication to my craft over a long period of time, and recognition of the unique and innovative contributions to the NFT space.
Overall, the entire event was an unforgettable couple of days for me and the VESA team β one that will inspire me to continue creating groundbreaking and impactful artwork.
It was for the November 2018 conference in Malta that we first built an artwork about Malta and crypto together with Eman back in the early days of crypto art. It was successfully auctioned for charity and we’ve been doing things together ever since.

The eight points of the Cross of Malta maintained by the Nights Hospitaller refer to:

* Having faith
* To repent of one’s sins
* To give evidence of humility
* To love justice
* To be merciful
* Being sincere and wholehearted
* To endure persecution
There are still two repainted canvas pieces available of this work, as it is not yet minted as an NFT.
The fireplace to Dr. Marwan was eloquent as ever about Dubai’s power to include the international community.
The AIBC / Sigma 2023 conference at the Festival Arena really brought it this year. All the way from the branding, flying Gary Vee colors in all their visual messages and the event itself, the conference proved once again why it should be considered one of the best in the space. As the last few restrictions were really lifted, the room was nicely packed with crypto and Web3 enthusiasts, all eager to catch the tantalizing panel or visit their favorite booth.
VESA held a very visual keynote on the Ikigai stage on kickoff day, drawing the audience’s attention to the underlying technology that is NFTs. What art, especially collectibles, has done so far is provide a great first use, but the technology itself can lend itself to a whole range of other disciplines. Since 2018, VESA has cited the need for an upheaval in the scientific peer review process and in the area of ββcharitable donations, both sectors that would greatly benefit from the transparent, objective stance a blockchain provides.

On the road to maturity
Maturity, a cool head and education seem like the triad of investable assets right now. The memes get hectic between centralized and decentralized, OG crypto and the banking system. There is something special about a moment when the proven lessons boil to the surface and maturity seems that much closer.
