[Manila, Philippines] nChain, a global leader and innovator in the blockchain ecosystem, has launched an incubator in the Philippines called Block Dojo Philippines. The establishment of the incubator in the province of Bataan is a significant step towards positioning the Philippines as the future blockchain hub in Asia. Block Dojo Philippines aims to provide startups, businesses and talent with the necessary tools to succeed by providing training, education, upskilling and cross-skilling to homegrown talent. This will produce a pioneering generation of blockchain companies and professionals in the Philippines.
According to Stefan Matthews, nChain Group Chairman, the establishment of the incubator is in line with their MOU signed last year with the provincial government of Bataan. The investment and commitment to support Filipino startups and entrepreneurs focuses on driving adoption by increasing blockchain knowledge, skills and solutions to allow the Philippines to enable blockchain at all levels and highlight its capabilities to the world.
James Marchant, Block Dojo Chairman, shared that the Dojo has a “founder first” mentality. The main goal is to support entrepreneurs in unlocking their potential while creating startups that harness the power of the BSV blockchain. The Dojo team established itself as one of the UK’s leading technology incubators responsible for launching more successful blockchain startups than any other incubator or accelerator. They are incredibly excited to help entrepreneurs in the Philippines and provide a springboard for new and innovative businesses while helping existing Filipino businesses harness the power of blockchain and transition into the Web3 world.
Jose Enriquez Garcia III, Governor of the Provincial Government of Bataan, expressed his support for nChain’s launch of Block Dojo Philippines. This incubator will provide the necessary training, education and upskilling to produce a pioneering generation of blockchain companies and professionals in the Philippines. He commended nChain for their investment and commitment to support Filipino startups and entrepreneurs, and he looks forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on the province and the country.
Christen-Ager Hanssen, nChain Group CEO, added that “nChain’s mission is to transform the world from Web2 to Web3.” The company is excited to invest in the future of the Philippines and support entrepreneurs and startups as they build a new Web3 world. Together with BlockDojo, they leverage the value and technology of their world-leading patent portfolio to propel the Philippines to the forefront of blockchain implementation. This will enable greater efficiency, security and transparency at all levels.
nChain and the Dojo will partner with innovative early-stage startups to remove the challenges of starting a company and deliver a curated 12-week startup program. The program includes access to potential capital, advice, strategy and skills via nChain’s network of investors, business experts and partners. The establishment of Block Dojo Philippines is a significant step towards positioning the Philippines as the future blockchain hub in Asia, and it will produce a pioneering generation of blockchain companies and professionals in the country.
