Greendale Township man asked to give caller Bitcoin to avoid trouble
The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by reporter Teresa Nims.
10:15 pm – Deputies conducted a traffic stop at a location in Lincoln Township. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle had no insurance. The 64-year-old male driver was reported. A report is sent to the prosecutor.
9:24 p.m.- A deputy was dispatched to a location in Mills Township regarding a deer in the roadway causing a traffic hazard. The deer was removed from the roadway.
8:35 pm – Deputies were called to a car-deer accident in Jerome Township.
7:58 PM – A deputy spoke with a 74-year-old Greendale Township man about an attempted fraud. He received a call claiming he had to buy and give bitcoins to the caller to avoid legal trouble. The man decided it was a scam and did not complete the transaction. The man wanted to report the incident. No financial losses were reported.
7:45 pm – Police were called to a property damage at eastbound US-10 and the Jefferson Avenue overpass.
5:05 p.m.- Deputies responded to a property damage in Warren Township.

4:01 p.m.- A 33-year-old Edenville Township man was arrested for fleeing and eluding, possession of meth and warrants following a traffic stop in Edenville Township. The man was lodged in the Midland County Jail and a report is being sent to the prosecutor.
3:25 pm Police responded to a property damage at N. Saginaw Road and W. Wheeler Street.
2:45 p.m. – A 46-year-old woman had some questions about terminated employees calling her business or trying to reach other employees. The woman was informed how she could prevent them from calling again and how she should inform them if they were not welcome at the company.
1:34 p.m.- Deputies were dispatched to a home in Larkin Township for a report of a verbal argument/juvenile problems. A 13-year-old child argued with his mother and caused trouble in the house. Contact was made with both parties, who said there was no abuse, only an argument. Both parties agreed to settle the case civilly.
12:51 p.m.- Police were called to a property damage at Sturgeon Avenue and W. Wackerly Street.
11:47 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the police center to assist a 49-year-old Larkin Township woman with questions regarding possible fraud and harassment. The woman was informed of her options.
11:01 a.m. – Police executed a warrant in the 3500 block of E. Ashman Street.
10:37 a.m. – An animal control representative received a complaint of two dogs running loose from a home in Lincoln Township. The dog’s owner was issued with an infringement notice.
9:36 a.m. – An animal control representative received a complaint regarding a dog running loose from a home in Lincoln Township. Contact was made with the dog’s owner. The owner’s failure to prevent the dog from running loose will result in a misdemeanor.
8:27 a.m. – Deputies responded to a property damage in Larkin Township.
2:54 a.m. – A 32-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in Lee Township and a report was forwarded to the prosecutor.
1:55 a.m. – Police responded to Washington Street at St. Andrews Road for a weapons and drug violation.
