According to a press release shared with Bitcoinist, “The Mogies” series is a way to celebrate the 100th the anniversary of the Hollywood sign being erected. The series will be launched together with a 1923 NFT collection inspired by relevant personalities and characters from Hollywood history.
The award-winning studio CHAVVO and Tran seems like the perfect match for the NFT series. The studio has worked on major Hollywood projects and box office successes, such as The Simpsons Movie, and in series from the popular Avengers and Ku Fu Panda series.
In addition, Tran and his team have worked for major studios such as Disney, Universal, Marvel Entertainment, Sony Animation, Cartoon Network, Fox, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon and EA. Thus, “The Mogies” will be supported by a team with a lot of experience.
The series will tell the tales of these Hollywood-inspired icons. In the shows, these characters will be aliens with a need to eat entertainment. The series and the NFT collection will be expanded with its own Metaverse universe, Mogieland.
Erick Tran said the following about the upcoming NFT series and its metavers:
Mogieland is a tribute to Hollywood, to our favorite characters, actors and movies that have created us. Mogul aims to make this the very first NFT animated series, and we could not have been more excited to collaborate with them.
A Hollywood Metaverse universe that will follow the NFT series
Mogieland will give “The Mogies” NFT holders access to their own country, attend movie premieres and other red carpet events with their Mogies, and connect with other enthusiasts.
According to the release, this meta-verse will be open to everyone, but only Mogies owners will “enjoy the unique experiences and privileges”. Erick Tran added:
Mogul has given us creative freedom to develop something original and special in this room. It’s great to see Mogul support creators and the animation community that very few others have. We are committed to this project and the NFT community. As an NFT producer, we want to be a major player in the NFT area. When I work with Mogul, I can see that it really comes true.
NFTs have been the cornerstone of the rise of crypto-adoption since 2021. Due to the utility issues and potential, older companies have explored their applications in several sectors, with entertainment as one of the most promising.
In 2021, Vitalik Buterin, the inventor of Ethereum, debuted as an actor in the NFT-based show “Stoner Cats”. This marked the beginning of a trend that has seen similar projects attempting to exploit NFT’s potential to provide users with a unique experience and a way to approach creators and artists.
