5 Boston Fintechs Aiming to Make Your Financial Life Easier

Financial technology, or fintech, is cutting-edge technology used to improve and automate the delivery of financial services. Fintech companies are not financial institutions, but instead financial applications like Zelle and Venmo that help both businesses and individuals send money faster and easier.

Fintech helps accelerate the use and transfer of financial services such as traditional tenders and cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

According to Toptal, Inc., a freelance platform for software engineers and financial professionals, the fintech industry will reach a value of $310 billion by the end of 2022. That’s a compound annual growth rate of 25% and $56 billion above the amount for 2018.

In 2018, venture capitalists invested a total of $254 billion in 18,000 fintech companies, an increase of 46% from the previous year.
